At Mrs. Castillo’s Learning Studio, I believe every learner deserves encouragement, personal attention, and a place where they feel comfortable asking questions and trying something new.
I bring 18 years of teaching experience, including 8 years in English Language Development, to help children, teens, adults, and families strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. I especially welcome multilingual families, and my programs are open to all learners who need support with literacy and language development.
While I am not bilingual, I use clear instruction, visuals, hands-on activities, and plenty of guided practice to make learning accessible and meaningful. We’ll build on what you already know and work toward your goals, one step at a time.

Deep Dive into Our Programs
Let’s build a strong reading foundation together! Our 8-week, in-person program at Mrs. Castillo’s Learning Studio gives children ages 4–6 a place to learn, practice, and grow in confidence.
Through hands-on activities, games, and guided practice, we’ll work on letter recognition, letter sounds, blending sounds into words, and beginning to read simple sentences. We’ll also build listening, speaking, and early writing skills while making learning fun and meaningful.
With a maximum of 5 students per group, your child will receive personal attention and encouragement as they learn at their own pace.
Students attend two one-hour sessions each week from 4:30–5:30 p.m. Choose two regular days—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday—when enrolling. These will be your child’s scheduled days throughout the program. We will pause for Thanksgiving week. That break does not count toward the eight weeks of instruction.
Enrollment reserves your child’s place for the full program. Sessions cannot be canceled or rescheduled. If your child misses a session, practice materials will be provided to help them continue learning at home.

Early Readers Program
Let’s help your child grow into a more confident reader, writer, and communicator! Our 8-week, in-person Elementary Fluency program at Mrs. Castillo’s Learning Studio builds vocabulary, reading fluency, comprehension, and writing skills through meaningful, hands-on learning.
Together, we’ll practice reading with understanding, thinking more deeply about texts, and expressing ideas clearly. Each session supports listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with encouragement and instruction that meet students where they are.
Groups are limited to 5 students so your child receives personal attention and plenty of opportunities to participate.
Students attend two one-hour sessions each week from 6:00–7:00 p.m. Choose two regular days—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday—when enrolling. These will be your child’s scheduled days throughout the program. We will take a break during Thanksgiving week. This break does not count toward the eight weeks of instruction.

Learning can be a family effort, and I’m here to help! Family tutoring at Mrs. Castillo’s Learning Studio gives you time to learn together, ask questions, and build confidence in a welcoming space.
Each session is planned around your family’s needs. We can work on reading, writing, vocabulary, listening, and speaking, help with homework, or practice strategies you can use to support your child’s learning at home. Adults are welcome to build their own literacy and English language skills, too.
Sessions are $50 per hour for your family, with a maximum of 5 participating family members. Whether you’re working toward a shared goal or need support with different skills, we’ll make the time meaningful for everyone.
One-hour sessions are available by appointment from 7:30–8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Choose an available day when booking.

Yes, we conduct a brief assessment to ensure every student is placed in a group that matches their current fluency level and learning goals.
What are the scheduling options?
We offer flexible after-school slots to fit your busy life. Our studio exclusively operates during afternoon and evening hours; we do not provide morning sessions.
